History
Cimertex was established in 1964, in Porto. With 3 employees and a capital of 300 contos, it was created with the purpose of selling industrial goods and providing services to the industry in general, namely compressors and pneumatic tools.
In 1966 the regional distribution of earthmoving machines began, the business area that until today prevails “affectively” as main branch.
In 1968, Cimertex became Komatsu’s national distributor, one of the leading manufacturers of construction equipment and mining industry, in a solid partnership that continues until today.
It develops its activity expanding geographically throughout the country with its own subsidiaries and authorized dealers, constituting a vast commercial and after-sales network.
Angola appears as an opportunity in 1995. Cimertex Angola, a company with Angolan law, is established with the same business model and is now one of the equipment suppliers for public works and mines in that country.
Diversifying for other sectors of activity, in 1999, began a strategic bet for the mining and quarrying sector, with Sandvik Mining and Construction, in Portugal and Angola, which has progressively occupied a significant share of Cimertex’s activity.
Maintaining these strategic lines, a portfolio of premium machine brands is progressively being built.
Names such as Casagrande (special foundations), Merlo (telescopic handlers), Komatsu Forest (forestry equipment), Hangcha (load & handling) and Fuchs (industrial loaders) are making Cimertex in a relevant option for various industry sectors.
In 2015 there is a new geographical expansion, to the north of Italy, where Cimertex will represent Komatsu, covering a significant territory.
Headquartered in Bologna, Cimertex Italia is taking the first steps, which will lead to a challenge with great potential for growth.
After more than 50 years of intense activity, Cimertex believes it has the essential skills to face the future with optimism.
